How Cute Is This?

"S" here again - just thought I'd share a cute video. The cuteness follows the opening explanation by Bonnie Hunt.

My Needless (but Fabulous!) Object of Desire

Greetings to all the Fancy Girl Blog Readers!

This is S speaking, and I'm posting a guestblog while Fancy Girl is taking her creative hiatus. I've never been a philosophical or insightful girl, so I'll just do what I do best, which is talk about pointless things that don't enrich anybody's life whatsoever. But if I have helped somebody kill time while he or she is at work, then that's just good karma.

To start my blogging career, here's a needless (but fabulous) item I have been lusting for ever since I went to the dermatologist office.

I'd like to think that I'm not superficial, or that I don't fall for purchase traps, but I totally want this. It's like a sonicare toothbrush, but it cleans your face! Sweet. It's almost $200 though - ouch!

Calgon, take me away.............

I have decided to take a little break from blogging for awhile. I plan to be back to it April 1st.

I have invited a few of my girlfriends to be "guest bloggers" on this site, and I am really hoping they will all take me up on it. They are all super smart & sassy chicks with plenty to say. :-)

In the meantime, go visit my friend Madison's blog: http://www.meetmadisonavenue.blogspot.com/
She updates her blog daily with funny, smart, and random stuff that you will get addicted to!

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means one-half hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
(4)
Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
(5)
Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)
(6)
That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a woman can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
(7)
Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome (This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - which is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' -- that will bring on a 'whatever'.)
(8)
Whatever: Is a woman's way of saying F-- YOU!
(9)
Don't worry about it, I've got it: Another dangerous statement , meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking, 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response, refer to # 3.

Girls V-Day Party Night

Tonight is our 2nd annual Girls Valentine Party...and I am so excited!
We are having Mexican food and lots of Margaritas. :-)
We'll have a blast exchanging our Secret Sister gifts.

Then the fun will really start.....
Our chick band will most likely be playing ROCK BAND on the Wii until we drive our pregnant host crazy. ;-) Then the "sleepover" part will ensue in which we will spend hours talking and giggling like a bunch of high school girls. Good Times!

Without a doubt tonight will prove to be fun and memorable for everyone!!!
I love you chickies!

The Killers!

Two girlfriends and I partied with The Killers last night! (Yes, a weeknight) We had an awesome night hanging out together with our shared appreciation of one of our favorite bands.

We three crazy chicks had dinner at the Scholz Garten before the concert. None of us had ever eaten there so we decided to try something new. To my surprise, the food was actually really good. Mostly BBQ on the menu, but there enough options for us non-red meat eaters.

We arrived at the concert just in time for the opening band to be finishing their last song. We were so stoked about our awesome seats and perfect timing. The Killers played all the songs from their new cd Day & Age with several of the old favorites mixed in.
The Killers rocked the Frank Erwin Center for about 1.5 hours.

My personal Killers favorites are:
When You Were Young
For Reasons Unknown
Read My Mind
Bones
Mr. Brightside
Smile Like You Mean It
All These Things That I've Done
Somebody Told Me

Obviously, The Killers are one of my favorite bands. And with good reason.... They absolutely ROCK live. In fact, they undoubtedly sound BETTER live than on the CDs. I cannot say that about any other band I've heard. Sometimes the music is so doctored up in the studio that it can be a let down to see your favorite bands live.

There are several songs on their new CD Day & Age that I really didn't love...until last night. Seeing and hearing them live made me appreciate those songs so much more. Now I can't wait to listen to the new CD again with this new appreciation and visions of the concert in my head.

Groundhog Day

I have always loved Groundhog Day. The only reason I can think of is because it means Spring is just around the corner. 6 more weeks of winter or not....I can handle it.

This morning Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow in Punxsutawney, Pa. predicting winter will last for 6 more weeks. For the last 122 years, Phil has seen his shadow 97 times, and hasn't seen it 15 times. (That is one really old groundhog.) But seriously, Phil lives in Pennsylvania, and it's Feb 2...of course they are going to get 6 more weeks of winter.
But what does that mean for Austin TX....really?!?! From what I've noticed, it doesn't really mean 6 more weeks of winter for us...maybe half that. It seems that when March gets here (just 1 month away), we start getting our Springtime. And I am so ready!

Side Note: I met my husband on Groundhog Day 2006. Another reason for me to appreciate this day every year.
